KleenSpeed Technologies, based at the NASA Ames Research Park in Moffett Field, California, was founded in 2007 by Timothy Collins, a technology visionary with a career of success in tech businesses and investment banking. KleenSpeed is committed to accelerating the transition to “Smart” energy by developing leading-edge products for the New Energy future and the construction of “Smart” Grid systems.
KleenSpeed is focused on research and development of the disruptive technologies that will lead to new products to enable capitalization of the New Energy Frontier. The company has recently announced its first commercial product, the GenESSys™ 40 kWh Energy Storage System for multiple applications requiring high capacity storage, which is now undergoing development testing. KleenSpeed’s GenESSys™ 40 kWh battery will be showcased and tested in an automotive application in the KleenSpeed World KAR prototype. KleenSpeed is also discussing deployment of the GenESSys™ with utilities, corporations and home owners for permanent storage, standby power and peak storage applications.
KleenSpeed will reveal the prototype of its World KAR platform, powered by the GenESSys™ 40 kWh “Smart” battery at the San Francisco International Auto Show on November 21, 2012. The KAR will serve as a development platform for KleenSpeed’s “Smart” battery and telemetrics technologies. The KAR concept and design also embodies the unique KleenSpeed business model to provide world class performance and efficiency in an affordable electric vehicle platform.
KleenSpeed has been involved in electric vehicle racing since 2008 as a primary research & development laboratory for advanced energy storage systems and related components and technologies. The scrambls/ KleenSpeed EVX-11 is the world’s fastest electric track racing car, winner of the ReFuel EV Challenge open prototype class for the past four years and the current EV lap record holder at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca and at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California.
