SAN FRANCISCO AUTO SHOW OPENS TO HUGE CROWDS
TECHNOLOGY AND DESIGN TAKE CENTER STAGE
SAN FRANCISCO, CA – November 21, 2016 – The Bay Area’s largest and most prestigious auto exposition, the San Francisco Chronicle 59th Annual International Auto Show opened to huge crowds over the weekend and will run through Sunday, Nov. 27th, including Thanksgiving Day, at the Moscone Center.
Auto Show enthusiasts have been eager to explore the 1.2 million square feet of 2017 model cars, crossovers, SUVs, trucks and vans on display from the worlds major manufacturers.
Front and center at this years show are vehicles and interactive exhibits featuring the latest in design and technology. Also prominent, are the newest innovations in driver assist, safety, infotainment and connectivity technology. ”We are at the epicenter of technology and design here in San Francisco, stated Kevin Diamond, Director of the San Francisco Auto Show. It is a natural fit for car manufacturers to display and showcase their latest technology in current production vehicles to our huge audience”.
Also of note, are the vast array of electric, hybrid and alternative fuel vehicles including two fuel cell cars, Toyota’s Mirai and Honda’s Clarity, along with dozens of the latest hybrid and electric vehicles including the Prius Prime, which is making its North American debut and the Chevrolet Bolt recently name Motor Trends Green Car of the Year for 2016.
Attendees who want to test drive an electric car can do so on Monday, Nov. 21 and Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Plug-In Electric Vehicle Test Drive presented by PG&E and features electric vehicles from Audi, BMW, Chevrolet, Ford, Nissan and Volkswagen. Toyota will also be offering Test Drives in the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Mirai on Thursday, Nov. 24 through Sunday, Nov. 27.
New introductions are also prominent at this years auto show including some 2018 model year products. Several manufactures have also launched complete redesigns of their previous year vehicles. ”The buying cycle of cars is hitting another peak and manufacturers have responded with several redesigns on their factory line-up, says Diamond, — ”more than I’ve seen in years past.” ” Thats the beauty of the San Francisco Auto Show, you can see all these new models, some that havent even hit showroom floors, get inside, take in the new car smell, get your questions answered by qualified product specialists all in a non-selling environment”.

Sunday, Nov. 20 – Thursday, November 24: 10:00 a.m. 9:00 p.m.
Friday, Nov. 25 – Saturday, November 26: 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m
Sunday, Nov. 27: 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
